About Us So many people have inquired about how this ministry began, so we thought we would explain it here.
My Promise to God

My name is Mary Genetin Cornell and I wanted to explain why I started Walk Together in Faith, Inc.
In the fall of 2004 I was working in the yard raking leaves when suddenly I went completely blind.  I can't remember for how long but it seemed like forever.  Standing there in darkness, scared to death, I wondered when I would be able to see again and why was this happening to me.  Within minutes my vision came back and after seeing an eye doctor he saw nothing wrong.

I experienced terrible headaches.  The pain was so intense I thought my head was going to explode.  I forced myself to do everyday things, but to make matters worse, my balance was off.  I went to a neurologist and he down-played my symptoms.  On February 14th while volunteering at school, my symptoms escalated.  I lost my speech twice and mumbled and my son said I had a dazed look in my eyes.  Later that day, my right leg went completely numb in the kitchen.  I could barely make it to the couch.  Next, while on the couch, I lost my peripheral vision.  My husband took me to ER and through testing they discovered I experienced a minor stroke.  I was put on the stroke floor but I had the doctors baffled because I was in good health:  low blood pressure, normal cholesterol and my weight was not a problem.

Sitting in my bed, confused after so many tests, nothing was found wrong.  I was so scared that the next time I may have a full-blown stroke and I would be debilitated.  So, I prayed to God.  I asked him if I was cured, I promised to be an advocate for the youth.  Through a different specialist, it was found that a hole in my heart from birth never sealed.
My hole was fixed that summer by a doctor at Children's Hospital with a patch covering the hole.  My headaches ceased and all the other symptoms subsided.  I only take one baby aspirin a day now along with my vitamins.  I no longer experience the symptoms or side effects.

I will always want to fulfill my promise to God and do what Jesus is asking of me.  This is why Walk Together in Faith, Inc. was started.  I have been told that I have a gift.  The gift is to get things going, but I know I don't have all the skills.  Together we will bring our talents to the table that God has given us and try to do the best we can with what we have.  I feel Jesus wants me to be that leader, and we will start in America and once again we will be the example for the world.  We will do this with joy and love and together we will "Set the World on Fire!"
